{"id":14051,"date":"2024-08-21T14:08:39","date_gmt":"2024-08-21T13:08:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/trustedcoachdirectory.com\/?p=14051"},"modified":"2024-10-02T15:57:11","modified_gmt":"2024-10-02T14:57:11","slug":"80-more-women-led-businesses-fail-than-those-led-by-men","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trustedcoachdirectory.com\/80-more-women-led-businesses-fail-than-those-led-by-men\/","title":{"rendered":"80% More Women-led Businesses Fail Than Those Led by Men"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>There\u2019s plenty of research on salary negotiations in the workplace and salary comparisons that bear this out.<\/p>\n<p>Back to pricing.<\/p>\n<p>What makes it hard?<\/p>\n<p>Why do women undercharge?<\/p>\n<p>Here are some thoughts to consider:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Limiting beliefs get in the way.<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>What will they think of me?<\/li>\n<li>Will I look greedy or arrogant?<\/li>\n<li>They won\u2019t be able to pay that.<\/li>\n<li>That\u2019s what everyone else is charging.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Do these sound familiar? If so it\u2019s time to catch yourself and question your fears.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Another challenge is self-doubt or lack of confidence<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>So you might think:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>I\u2019ll charge less than other people <em>while I\u2019m new<\/em>.<\/li>\n<li>I don\u2019t feel confident so I\u2019ll charge less.<\/li>\n<li>Will people really pay that for my coaching?<\/li>\n<li>It just sounds too much.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Undercutting \u201cthe market price\u201d is a bad strategy. <\/strong>There\u2019s an erroneous belief that charging less than others is a brilliant way to gain more clients.<\/p>\n<p>Yes it may bring you clients but some say the \u2018cheapskate\u2019 client is often the most picky.<\/p>\n<p>Your low price may communicate that you are inexperienced or not much good. Or that your business is struggling. None of these are helpful. Confidence is everything in business, as anyone who follows the stock market knows.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What to do instead<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I recommend these as first steps:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Get clear on your value to clients, what specific results clients achieve with you. Include <strong><em>so they can<\/em><\/strong><em>. <\/em>For example<em>:<\/em> Increased confidence so they can \u2026.<\/li>\n<li>Get comfortable with money and money conversations. If <strong><em>profit<\/em><\/strong> still feels like a dirty word, something needs to change urgently in your money thinking so you can let your business thrive.<\/li>\n<li>Work with the right people.
